Computational Tools and AI for Orchestration
Dear all,
Thank you for registering in the ACTOR Workshop on AI and Computational Tools for Orchestration, the topic for this year will be revolving around the current state of models and creative tools that can be used for orchestral composition and generally creative musical endeavors, and where to go from this point onwards. We hope this year to center our discussions on issues surrounding the control and interaction with such approaches. Given the format of this year, we hope to foster mostly open debates and also give a larger part on discussing any idealized hypothetical tools to be developed next.
The workshop is planned on July 17th at 8:00-11:00 PDT / 11:00-14:00 EDT / 12:00-15:00 ADT / 17:00-20:00 CET / 18:00-21:00 IDT / 22:00-01:00 CST.

This uses an in-house Ircam solution which requires no specific installed software, but seems to work best with Chrome and Firefox.
There is no specific materials for this session, but in order to gather ideas and proposals prior to the session, we replicated the tentative session agenda (detailed afterwards) in the following collaborative document
Please feel free to add ideas, proposals for discussions and suggestions in the document directly.
The workshop will be focused on brief, casual presentations, discussion, brainstorming, and planning of collective activities over the next year.
Tentative agenda
Overview of last year report and current ACTOR state
Presentations on scientific projects in the field of computational tools and AI for orchestration (5–10 minutes)
Presentation of new and available tools for experimentation
Discussion on the musical research and composers feedbacks
Research topics
Interaction and control issues
Co-creativity and emergence
Idealized tools brainstorming
Relationships inside ACTOR
Planning of collective activities over the next year.
Please send me a mail if you have any question, and do not hesitate to edit the collective document right away
All the best,
Philippe
